Brympton Allotment Association
Welcome to the Brympton Allotment Association Website.
The Brympton Allotment Association (BAA) has a thriving allotment site located to the west side of Yeovil in the the parish of Brympton. The site has outstanding views over the countryside towards Montacute and contains 47 plots (mostly full-size plots which are 25m x 5m and a few half-size plots); there is water onsite and secure parking.
The Association usually has a small number of full and half plots (some with sheds) that are vacant and available for new members. Membership is open to people over the age of 18 who live within the Brympton Parish boundary. A small number of plots are available for people living outside the parish. Membership brings with it an obligation to assist with the general upkeep of the site throughout the year, this is usually achieved by participation in working-parties which are usually held three times a year. If you are interested in becoming an allotment holder then please go to the people page in the about us menu on the top bar and contact the Membership Secretary for further details. If there are no plots available at the time of application we operate a waiting list and your name can be added to the list for when a suitable plot becomes available.
The current annual membership fees are £40 for a full-plot and £25 for a half-plot. There is a £10 non-refundable joining fee. Fees are payable in December each year and the ‘Allotment Year’ runs from 1 January until 31 December. Reduced fees are payable if a plot is taken-on part-way through the year. Annual membership includes a subscription to the South West Counties Allotment Association (SWCAA).
In order for the Association to exist it is a requirement that a Committee oversees the running and management of the Association. A small number of plotholders form the Committee and meet four times a year. If you are interested in joining the Committee please contact any current Member of the Committee to find out more. The duties don’t take up much time and other Committee Members will offer assistance and guidance if required.
An Annual General Meeting is held in JANUARY each year.
